2016 Economic Outlook and Red Wings Game

NAIOP Upstate New York has two great events happening in June.

On June 22, Gary Keith, Regional Economist from M&T Bank, will provide an update on the 2016 economic outlook and discuss other regional economic trends that may affect your business.

On June 30, NAIOP is “ready to play ball”.  Join us in box seats, provided by Frontier Company, as we watch the Rochester Red Wings take on the Syracuse Chiefs in a double header!

NAIOP’s Golf Tournament was a Success!

Under sunny, blue skies, 80 golfers hit the links yesterday to enjoy a round of golf at Ravenwood Country Club in Victor, NY.

The day began with grilled burgers & dogs picnic style, thanks to our sponsor, Gallina Development.  Once on the carts, with towels and coozies & tees sponsored by S&T Bank, and Lester Appraisal, respectively, the teams were off to start the scramble.

From the photos posted, you can see that everyone had a great time, and the teams posted some impressive scores.  Our leaders, coming in for the win at 10 under!  (Good round Rob & Evan Gallina, Adam Rooney, Tyler McLain).

At the 19th Hole (sponsored by Buckingham Properties), golfers enjoyed cold beverages and yummy appetizers. Even non-golfers came and joined us for the evening’s festivities!  Dinner (sponsored by Gallina Development) which consisted of grilled chicken, pulled pork, corn on the cob, salad and more, was a hit.  After dinner, the prizes were handed out — and there were many happy faces!

We’d like to thank our following sponsors who helped make this event a success! Gallina Development, Harris Beach PLLC, Buckingham Properties, S&T Bank, Landsman Development, NYSCAR Rochester Chapter, Northmarq Capital, LeFrois Builders & Developers, Oxford Capital and Uniland Development Company.

If you missed this year’s tournament, we will be back again next May!

The New York Upstate Revitalization Initiative (URI) is part of an overall program aimed at revitalizing the economy of Upstate New York. The initiative is modeled after the Buffalo Billion Initiative.

The talk focused on how these funds are planned for allocation, and how to apply for funding through the Consolidated Funding Process.

EB-5 Capital Is a Catalyst for Real Estate Development

On Tuesday, October 20, the Niagara Falls Mayor, Paul Dyster, welcomed a room full of powerful decision-makers when it comes to obtaining funding for development projects.

The Federal Reserve Bank and the Upstate New York Chapter of NAIOP, Empire State Development and the City of Niagara Falls hosted a program on how EB-5 is being used to benefit other upstate New York communities.

Panelists shared their wealth of knowledge about requirements, deal structures and future availability at the Niagara Falls Convention Center.  The panelists included Michael Anthony (M&T Bank), Terry Gilbride (Hodgson Russ, LLP), William Gresser (EB-5 NYS) and Peter Sayadoff (Uniland Development Company). Moderator was Krystal Ozmun (Miller Mayer, LLP).

This EB-5 program was one of a series of programs on capital funding that have run throughout the year.
